Discover Japanese flower art with our experienced ikebana teacher.
The traditional Japanese art form of arranging flowers is called Ikebana, which means ‘making flowers come alive’. In this new florist course you will get to learn how to make an Ikebana arrangement according to the guide lines of Sogetsus, the Japanese school of Ikebana art.
Content
We combine theory with practice. After an introduction to Ikebana and Japanese aesthetics we will try to make our own Ikebena arrangements. This course is in English.
Prior knowledge
This course is open to everyone! No prior knowledge is needed.
Teacher
Anne-Charlotte Nilsson is educated in the arts of Ikebana at Sogetsu-ryu in Tokyo, where she lived between the years 2003 – 2022. She has the highest ranking (riji) and has participated with her work in exhibitions at Takashimaya, Art Space K i Kagurazaka, Sogetsu Kaikan och Sogetsu Plaza - Heaven by Isamu Noguchi, among others.
Anne-Charlotte has a Bachelor and a Master in art science with an orientation in Japanese and Chinese art. She is also a member of STA (Sogetsu Teachers' Association), Tokyo.
Course material
- Flower costs are included in the course price.
- Flower fakir, vase and other tools is available to borrow during the course.
- The flowers you have been working with during the course, you can take with you and create a new arrangement at home.
- We work standing up so please bring comfortable shoes.
